Three Days in Austria

Early on boxing day morning I had to wake up to head to the airport for my trip to Austria. I was picked up by Sophie and her dad, Sven from Salzburg airport and drove to Wagrain. I've never skied before so I was looking forward to it!

Day 1 resulted in many falls and sore muscles. It was Sophie's first time teaching someone so she struggled to help me gain my balance.

We had an interesting Austrian lunch, Tiroler Gröstl. It's one of the favourite meals from the skiing area Tirol. Basically it's fried egg, potato, onion and bacon.

When the lifts had closed at 4pm, we went to Kuhstall, which is known for good "afterskiing". It's an European tradition for going out, having lots of beer, dancing to austrian music, and socialising after a day skiing.

At night Sophie and I went for a dinner at a Hotel and had another traditional meal, schnitzel. Afterwards we were invited to a party together with a group of dutch boys, at a local disco bar in Wagrain named "disco tenne". It was very different to anything I'm used to back home. The interior was very very austrian and cozy !

Day 2 Sophie and I had a good sleep in and woke up to beautiful weather. We took the lift up to the mountain top where we met up with Sven. He taught me how to ski, or at least the basic techniques.

Again today we went to Kuhstall, "afterskiing". Afterwards we went for dinner together with Sophie's extended family.

Tomorrow we'll be bound for Denmark after another day on the slopes.

Arrival in Bath, England

Hey Everyone!

I've arrived in Bath, England and spent the last few days with my English family. Unfortunately, the weather has been very bad and left bath and surrounding areas flooded for christmas. I've attached some of the photos from the flood to this blog. Tomorrow I'm of to Austria to go Skiing with one of my closest friends Sophie Demant, so I'm very excited!

Speak soon and Merry Christmas
